Northumberland, PA – – – Starting in February, Susquehanna Valley Taxi began on-demand transportation services to customers within Northumberland, Snyder, and Union counties. The new cab service is responding to area needs by providing extended operating hours, including late-night and weekends, as well as an App that allows customers to schedule the cab and pay the fare from a smart phone or tablet.
Adapting the same customer service practice as it’s sister-company, Susquehanna Valley Limousine, taxi clients can expect the same safe, reliable and courteous service. “We require all of our drivers to undergo and pass background checks and drug screenings to ensure the highest safety standards for our clients. In addition, all of our taxi drivers will be dressed in professional uniforms and receive extensive customer-service training.”, stated owner, Chris Peifer.
The new taxi service, which shares an office in Northumberland with Susquehanna Valley Limousine, will operate seven days a week and will also offer late night services on weekends, a service that until now, has been lacking in this area. Operating hours include: Sunday-Thursday, 7am – 10pm; Fridays and Saturdays, 7am – 3am. However, customers who need transportation services outside the taxi’s regular operating hours can do so by making a reservation at least 12 hours in advance. Susquehanna Valley Taxi’s fleet is made up of late-model Toyota Camrys.

The free app, SVTAXICABS, (available for Androids and i-phones) will not only allow customers to schedule a ride, but also watch the taxi’s location in real-time, and pay the ride fare from their smart phone. Customers using the SVTAXICABS app will receive a text when the cab has arrived at the pick-up location and an email with a receipt once the ride is complete.
